Elyon House of Bread created a department division to serve Florida communities during disaster events whether they are man made or natural acts of God.
Our volunteer Disaster Emergency Response Team is here to better serve the community and its partners. It is certified by the FEMA CERT Program with staff of all walks of life such as, law enforcement, civil defense, veterans, retired fire fighters, Chaplains, nurses, teachers, Pastors, ministers, and electricians among others.
During natural disasters we are able to reach, visit, support, and help members of our community, when others cannot.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area, as well as training them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.
We have open enrollment year round for those who would like to sign up and become volunteers to join our vision. Please contact us.
